The “Energoprojekt” was established in Warsaw, on 14th July 1949, by the decree of the Ministry of Energetic and Mining Industry. The Warsaw headquarters had four agencies acting as individual companies. Two of them, in Katowice and Warsaw, were responsible for modernization of power stations; the other two, situated in Krakow and Poznan, managed designing high-voltage network systems. Moreover, Poznan agency also designed medium-voltage networks and transmission stations.

In 1958 the structure of the company was changed, the headquarters were situated in Warsaw (Warsaw Bureau of Power Engineering) whereas the agencies were, since then, situated in Gliwice, Katowice, Krakow and Poznan and became fully independent.
In the 60’s and 70’s the “Energoprojekt – Poznań” SA expanded activities in the field of research, experimental and prototype production.
On 1st December 1994 The “Energoprojekt – Poznań” SA entered the stock market. The prevailing number of shareholders belonged to our current personnel. The newly established joint-stock company took over technical and economical achievements, along with archives and- what is most important – tradition and experience of well-qualified experts. State-owned company of the Poznan Bureau was officially ceased on December 31st 1995.
Nowadays, the “Energoprojekt – Poznań” SA employs over 80 people. 80% of the crew graduated university or ended up secondary education level, whereas over 70% has got at least 10-year experience in professional designing.

Since the activity of our Bureau has been started our engineers have always accurately supervised all company’s industrial events and investments that have been performed. All objects are perfectly visible in the country’s map. There are thousands of kilometers of underground cables and overhead lines accompanied by hundreds of power stations. Our designs are to be found in coal mines such as Bełchatów, Turoszów and Konin, and also in powerhouses and power plants, in sulfur mine in Machów and many cement mills.
What is more the national railway electrification in 1960s was implemented on the basis of projects created in “ENERGOPROJEKT POZNAŃ” SA. Technical descriptions of energy lines and medium-voltage stations were the most significant elements that were used to build numerous elements of the railway network for many years.
